Extended School Closure & Refund Policy

At MHS we understand the uncertainty of the upcoming academic year and are dedicated to serving our families. We are preparing for several different scenarios.

MHS Plan as of 7/3/2020:

  • Monday Tutorial classes will be held online on the days and times they are scheduled until our 1st day of in-person classes October 12th. No class or supply fee refunds will be issued as we will be paying tutors and purchasing supplies. (Supplies needed while doing online classes will be organized by tutors and available for pickup at the director’s house.)

  • Friday Tutorial classes will be held at Sylvan Learning Center in Murfreesboro, TN on the days and times they are scheduled until we move to our new location October 16th. No class or supply fee refunds will be issued as we will be paying tutors and purchasing supplies.

  • Theater will not meet until October 16th 2020.

  • Cooperative classes will not meet until we resume in person October 12th 2020.

Delayed Start Date to Spring Semester (Jan 22, 2021): If we are unable to meet in person until the beginning of spring semester, our plan is as follows:

  • Tutorial classes will be held online on the days and times they are scheduled until our 1st day of in-person classes. No class or supply fee refunds will be issued as we will be paying tutors and purchasing supplies. (Supplies needed while doing online classes will be organized by tutors and available for pickup at the director’s house.)

  • The coding classes taught by Sylvan are virtual friendly. If there is a pause next year during the school year, we can easily switch the class over to a virtual platform. The student would log in to the meeting room so that Ms. Karen could give instruction in the meeting room and you can access your projects from your own laptop or computer.

  • Engineering & Robotics classes will receive a 50% refund on the class fee. The supply fee will not be refunded.

  • Theater class structure will change to address the time constraints. A partial class refund may be issued, depending on the class plan. This fee is to cover the rental of the theater and purchasing materials/scripts/props for the program.

  • Cooperative classes will begin meeting when we resume in-person.

  • MHS Membership Fee will not be refunded for tutorial parents and refunded 50% for cooperative ONLY parents.

  • Drop-Off and Study Hall Fees will be refunded 50%.
